Jones proud to be on USA's cyclo-cross Worlds team
Despite having already attended his UnitedHealthcare road team's season training camp, American Chris Jones will still find time to deploy his alter-ego when he lines up with Rapha-Focus at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Koksijde, Belgium at the end of the month. It is a complement to me as a rider to have Marc Gullikson use a discretionary pick on me," Jones said. Howard to focus on the road in 2012

It doesn’t matter which ones they are I just want to be back on the winner’s podium – that’s the next step to being a top sprinter."

Gerrans targets Ardennes Classics after Tour Down Under victory
Simon Gerrans (GreenEdge) claimed the second WorldTour victory of his career on Sunday at the Tour Down Under, and now will target the Ardennes Classics in April. Project 1t4i manager confident of Tour de France invite

The third Dutch professional cycling team, Project 1t4i (formerly Skil-Shimano) is confident that it will take part in the 2012 Tour de France. Team manager Iwan Spekenbrink has told the Telegraaf that he was counting on racing the French Grand Tour as he elaborated the outfit's race programme for the upcoming season.Last year, the Tour organizers raised the number of participating teams to 22, inviting four Professional Continental outfits on top of the 18 squads that were guaranteed entry for their UCI ProTeam licenses. All four invited teams were French (FDJ, Europcar, Cofidis and Saur-Sojasun), but as FDJ has been given World Tour status in 2012, 'only' three French Pro Continental teams have to rely on an invitation, leaving at least one door open to a foreign team.

Saur-Sojasun ready for more World Tour races.

French Professional Continental team Saur-Sojasun has applied for an increased number of race invitations to World Tour events in 2012. Team manager Stéphane Heulot explained that it was necessary to participate in as many top level races as possible for his riders to fine-tune their abilities.
"We want to do a lot of World Tour races and expand our programme," Heulot told Velochrono. "We realized that by participating and shining in the World Tour, we made progress and developed our riders - especially a solid group like ours. Even if, at one point, we'll have to sign other riders to step up, we can already make our riders grow without looking somewhere else.

RadioShack-Nissan's Trek machines for 2012

This article first appeared on Bikeradar.Trek Bicycle Corporation sponsored both the Leopard Trek and RadioShackteams last year so it's no surprise that when the two teams merged during the off-season that the Wisconsin company would carry on in that role for 2012.indeed, returning Leopard Trek riders will essentially have to make no adjustments whatsoever as aside from cosmetics, virtually every piece of equipment is carried over from the 2011 season. Anchoring the entire package is Trek's top-end Madone 6.9 SSL frame, dressed in a complete Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic group plus a wide array of components from the company's parts and accessories arm, Bontrager, including the new Aeolus wide-profile carbon tubular wheels, handlebars, stems, saddles, and even bar tape.
